The Delhi Government will present budget today. Delhi Finance Minister A K Walia will present his sixth budget, is also expected to allocate extra money for infrastructure projects relating to next year's Commonwealth Games. The officials indicated that as revenue collection fell by over Rs 1,300 crore during the year 2008-09 the Government might take some "harsh measures" to improve its financial position.
With the financial health of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) not in good shape, the budget could also see an announcement of increase in water and transport tariff. This budget may put some pressure over delhi public pocket.

The Rs 5,000-crore iron ore mining major, Sesa Goa, has acquired another Goa-based iron ore mining company – Dempo Mining Corporation for Rs 1,750 crore.
Sesa Goa, a listed entity on the Bombay Stock Exchange, has iron ore reserves of around 150 million tonnes. The combined entity would emerge as one of the largest iron ore exporters in the country.
